Zlato Baby ep
(released independently August 2007)

Rave Magazine Review - August 2007
Did Brisbane suddenly get way cooler?
I keep hearing that all the good music is in Melbourne. But the truth is most times I step out to catch a gig or pick up a new album, I can’t believe the stuff is local. Whoever subscribes to this Melbourne-envy obviously hasn’t got their ear to the ground. The Gonzo Show are just one of an ever growing list of, in my opinion, successfully kick-arse bands to be gracing Brisbane’s indie scene. The influences the band list are instantly apparent on listening. But with a list like Dinosaur Jr, Velvet Underground, Pavement and Sebadoh (to name a few), who could complain about that? Dreamy electro guitar noise, deliciously delicate but prominent bass-lines, a steady, driving rhythm section and a vocalist whose melodies scream ‘sing with me!’ make for worthwhile listening. The melt in your mouth bass on track Brownfox is the highlight for me. Check out Red Cherry Stains too.
ILI TULLOCH
After spending 2006 establishing themselves amongst the live Brissy indie scene, Gonzo Show released their debut in August 2007 EP "zlato baby" with a launch at the Zoo.
The independently released EP was recorded January to April 2007 with up and coming producer Bryce Moorhead at the helm at his Zero Interference studios in inner Brisbane. One thing you can be sure of is the Gonzo Show believe in creating albums (in this case an EP) where every song stands on its own, something the 6 tracks on “zlato baby” have achieved.
New Album - 2008
The Gonzo Show's debut album is sceduled for release in 2008. Recording will start in January with Bryce Moorhead from Zero Interefernce again at the helm.
Tracks to be included include new tracks, some of which have been in recent live sets - Severed Sun, Steve Shelley, Rush, Drown. Also will be Piss On Me (remember the drunk guys at the Zoo?), All in Good Time, Take it in, Santa Monica Distortion and Sunny Side Up.
Keep posted for more info.
Split Screen ep
(75 copies only released 2003)
The split screen ep was a series of home demos mainly recorded on a digital 8 track by Gonzo while he was living at home with Mummy and Daddy. It's really lo-fi but you get the message. Gonz was missing Petra at the time (she was living in her native Czech Republic) so there is some dark undertones.
Track include: split screen, a cruisy version of zlato (without the jame ending), santa monica distortion, sunny side up (featured on the Margo surf film "Wunderjahr"
Only 75 copies were made so it's well out of print.
